Ford Motor Credit Company
Case Study
CHALLENGE
Ford Motor Company opened eight regional service centers and needed to save space while consolidating records from 150 sites. Casper’s objective was to utilize space in a cost-effective manner by building eight locations rather than 150 separate locations.
“We wanted a product from a company that had a good reputation and mechanical reliability, so we selected Casper.”
SOLUTION
With the help of Spacesaver, Casper Corporation was able to incorporate 36 rotary systems into a pilot service center. After proven effective, this system is now the standard in service centers across the country. In addition to the pilot service center, Ford imaged its nonlegal records and incorporated more than 200 Spacesaver Rotary storage systems into regional file rooms to store legal title documents. A new business model focused on consolidating the backroom collections and administrative functions from each branch location into eight regional sites. Some storage rooms are on the second floor, and floor loading was a concern. The Rotary storage systems provided less weight per square foot. Casper Corporation successfully built new regional sites with less square footage saved on construction costs. It accommodated the company’s desire for storage flexibility by providing trouble-free relocation and easy expansion using add-on storage units.
